Family
The entire month of January was spent based out of Lisa’s parents’ home in Colorado. We spent time at churches in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska. The stability of not moving the camper and having all the tools we needed to finish the projects that didn’t get done before we started deputation was a blessing. It was also such a blessing to have Lisa’s dad’s help on some of the camper/ truck projects. It is a camper and they are high maintenance, but as of now, we have a fully functioning camper! There’s even a toilet paper roll holder!
Steele has had digestive issues and throat pain for a couple years now and we have been getting no where. We eliminated gluten and dairy from his diet and he does better, but still has had many problems and pain. When we first got to Colorado, he had an appointment with his pediatrician that he had before moving to Texas. The doctor promised us that he would help us figure out what was going on and get him the treatment he would need, but that it would take time. After pulling together reports and test results from all the doctors Steele saw while in Texas, he put together a good picture of what is going on. Steele was referred to the Denver Children’s hospital and he will begin treatment on March 22. We are so thankful to be able to move forward and get Steele some relief. Steele was also excited (not really) because he got a lot of dental work done while staying at Grandma and Grandpas.
Nathan and Lisa were able to take a couple days and go up to Couple’s Retreat at Silver State Baptist Youth Camp with Windsor Baptist Church. It was so cold the moisture in the air was freezing and it made it look like there was glitter in the air. It was gorgeous and we had time to reconnect without any distractions.
It was great to be able to spend time with family and reconnecting with friends, but after nearly 2 months at home in Colorado, we are ready to set out on the road again!
Witnessing
While in Colorado Nathan took the opportunity to go out door knocking with a church in Longmont. Nathan was able to meet Leroy and had a conversation for about a half-hour with him. Leroy is an atheist who says that he wants there to be a God, just does not see any evidence for God. Unfortunately, Leroy did not get saved, but we trust that God will continue to work on Leroy and bring him the witnesses that he needs to kneel to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Please pray for Leroy.
