Deputation
In March, we were in twelve churches in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. The Lord blessed and we gained 5 new partners to bring the Gospel to the Czech Republic. This brings our total support to 82%, with an additional 6% promised.
Family
While the visit to Nathan’s dad went well logistically, and his health is improving, there was not any fruitful conversations about the Gospel. Nathan will be going back out over Easter and will try again.
Collins
A quick update on Azariah’s surgery. He was sent home after his surgery, but over the weekend he started bleeding profusely in his mouth and ended up back in the hospital. They will be up at Children’s Hospital in Kansas City for a while so the doctors can keep an eye on him, but it appears that the surgery was (at least for now) successful.
Moving to the Czech Republic
We tried to get our tickets to move with the miles that we built up on our United card. However, United has changed their policies and we would only be able to bring one bag with us. Needless to say, that was not going to work. Lisa found a travel agent who works with missionaries and he was able to find us a fare that would work for us and we purchased out tickets to leave on August 25th! Now we are working to get more paperwork together and will meet with the Czech embassy in May. That is assuming that we can get all of the paperwork to and from our immigration attorney in Czechia by then.
Now comes the time of a lot of expenses. We will need to have $20,000 in a bank account for the visa appointment, visa costs will come to ~$3700, our language school will cost $8800, paying in to the socialized medicine will cost $4000, and we will need around $8000 for setting up our home. If you want to help with any of these costs, please send the money to CMC with a memo for “Start Up” in the memo so that it will be held in the right account.
